Ubisoft have released the second gameplay trailer for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag which showcases some of the sea-faring ship combat as well as the brutal assassinations players can expect to experience as new protagonist, Edward Kenway.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag takes place in 1715, an era where pirates rule the Caribbean and have established their own lawless Republic where corruption, greediness and cruelty are commonplace. Among these outlaws is a brash young captain named Edward Kenway who finds himself in the middle of an ancient war between Assassins and Templars.
The upcoming Assassin’s Creed title is set to offer the largest and most diverse Assassin’s Creed world ever created, featuring an astounding 50 unique locations where you can live the life of a pirate. Players can expect to loot underwater shipwrecks, search for treasure, investigate hidden coves and, of course, assassinate a whole lot of Templars.
The new gameplay trailer has given us a brief insight into the naval combat sections of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, missions for which are said to make up 40% of the entire game. Players will be put at the helm of the Jackdaw and tasked with plundering and pillaging to upgrade the Jackdaw with ammunition and equipment needed to fight off enemy ships. As Edward Kenway, you’ll be able to board massive galleons, recruit sailors to join your crew and embark on an epic and infamous adventure.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is scheduled for release on October 31st, 2013 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U.
